Preloaded Maps – The Lowrance Endura Sierra has pre-loaded maps to fit the needs of any land based activity in the contiguous US. Built into every Sierra are Intermap’s Accuterra high resolution topographic maps with extensive outdoor trails and points of interest. If you are taking a road trip, no problem, the pre-loaded Navteq maps show street level detail of the lower 48 states and as an upgrade option turn-by-turn navigation is available. If this is not enough, Lowrance offers optional Fishing Hot Spots, National and International maps. The Endura Sierra has 4GB of Internal memory and a micro SD expansion slot that can support up to a 32GB card for adding maps, pictures and MP3 files.
For the hikers a 3-Axis electronic compass, barometric altimeter, waterproof design and built-in trip computer which records trails, trip times, altitudes, speed and distance, comes standard. Lowrance also packaged a mighty 42 channel GPS WAAS receiver that is sure to keep you locked in to your position. It can also accept many public domain files and community based content such as GPX trails, Geocaches and general outdoor points of interest. For faster map redraw and panning, the Sierra was outfitted with a high performance processor and high speed memory. And don’t worry about losing your way, the Endura Sierra will hold a whopping 2000 waypoints, 3000 geocaches, 60 routes, 30 plot trails and has 194 different graphic markers to mark where you have been.
All of the above data is viewable on a 2.7” 320 x 240 QVGA, color, high resolution touchscreen display. Other features include a video player, picture viewer, MP3 player, speaker, headphone, microphone and the ability to add voice notes. It can operate up to 15 hours on 2 AA batteries under normal use and has a power standby mode to save battery life for longer periods of time.
