The DeLorme Earthmate PN 40 Handheld GPS combines a rugged, waterproof unit with unmatched Topo detail. Everything an outdoorsman could want is in the PN 40, including a 3 axis electronic compass for headings even when standing still and barometric altimeter for the most accurate altitude readings. The PN 40 features a highly sensitive 32-channel WAAS enabled GPS receiver for accuracy within 3 meters and runs off of two AA batteries. To make their highly detailed Topo maps look right, DeLorme gave the PN 40 a high-resolution 2.2” TFT color display that is viewable in direct sunlight. In order to make the ultimate outdoor handheld GPS the PN 40 has to be durable, so DeLorme added impact resistant rubber housing and made it waterproof to IPX-7 standards. At only 5.12 ounces the PN 40 will not weigh you down on your next outdoor adventure.
Loaded to every Earthmate PN 40 is a basemap of worldwide highways and major roads, with the ability to accept additional detail from the included DeLorme Topo USA 8.0 software. The Delorme Topo 8.0 not only gives you detailed topo and street maps, but it will gives you the ability to obtain detailed 7.5-Minute Topo Quads, Aerial images and NOAA charts directly from DeLorme’s NetLink tab. The PN-40 has 500 MB of built in memory and an SD/SDHC card slot that can handle up to a 32 GB SD card for map storage. Included with every Earthmate PN-40 is a 1GB SD card, Topo USA 8.0 and an SD card reader for super fast map downloads. Once the maps are loaded the PN-40 will also route you along the roads to a destination that is user selectable. The Dual-Core processor gives the PN 40 the fastest map redraw possible, accurately keeping your position and all the map detail on the display.
The DeLorme Earthmate PN 40 has memory to store 1,000 user defined waypoints, 10 tracklogs each with 10,000 points per track and 50 routes. The EarthMate PN 40 comes with a USB transfer cable that will allow you to move your waypoints, routes and tracks to the pc to be displayed on the DeLorme Topo 8.0.
