Looking for a durable handheld GPS for navigating inland lakes? The Garmin Colorado 400i is the unit for you. This portable handheld GPS unit is perfect for cruising around your local lake or for marking your favorite bass fishing spots. Already loaded to the Colorado 400i are detailed maps for thousands of U.S. Inland lakes and navigable rivers including data such as boat ramps, mile markers, depth contours and shoreline detail. To help keep you safe Garmin has built in a high sensitivity WAAS GPS receiver that will give accurate position readings and unmatched satellite reception. The Colorado 400i is housed in a rugged and waterproof to IPX7 standard casing so it can perform in the harshest of elements.
In addition to the Mapsource Inland Lakes detail, the Colorado 400i is also loaded with a worldwide basemap with shaded relief for incredibly enhanced presentation. You will also have major highways and interstates across the United States pre-loaded with shoreline detail of large lakes and rivers as well as a rough coastline of the United States. This map can be further enhanced with the addition of Garmin’s optional Mapsource products like US Topo 2008, BlueChart, and City Navigator NT. All you need is an SD card to store the optional detailed maps and the Mapsource title itself. By adding the City Navigator NT software, the Colorado will then be able to guide you with on screen text, turn-by-turn directions for navigating in your vehicle. Topo 2008 will enhance your map for all of your outdoor hunting and hiking adventures. Garmin has also made many of its more popular Mapsource titles available pre-loaded to SD cards, including Topo USA 2008 and City Navigator NT North America and Europe. There is no need to connect to you PC for map uploading when using the pre-programmed cards.
The features do not stop there. The Colorado 400i handheld GPS will also allow you to wirelessly send waypoints, routes and tracks to other Garmin Colorado units. The new Rock ‘n Roller wheel makes one handed operation a snap, even when mounted in a bracket on the dash of your boat. An electronic compass, barometric altimeter and temperature sensor are also built right into the Garmin Colorado. Garmin has also given you the ability to have user configurable profiles for different uses, like hunting or Auto use.
