The Garmin Dakota 10 is the perfect handheld for any and all of your outdoor activities. Navigate quickly and easily through the Dakota’s simple menu system using the 2.6” sunlight-readable, color, touchscreen display. Behind the bright display is a high sensitivity GPS receiver that is sure to keep you locked into your position and on track whether on land or sea.
The Garmin Dakota 10’s basemap consists of interstates, highways and political boundaries, but with the 850mb of built-in memory you have the option of loading more detailed maps from Garmin's extensive Mapsource library. If street navigation is your purpose, the Dakota can provide turn-by-turn routing with Garmin’s optional City Navigator software. Not only are you able to load more detailed maps into the Dakota but you can also store 2,000 Geocaches with information such as location, terrain, difficulty, hints and descriptions. If that is not enough, the Dakota 10 will also store up to 1,000 waypoints, 50 routes and 10,000 track log points.
The Dakota 10 also has the features you have come to expect from a Garmin unit like Hotfix technology which improves performance, acquisition time and satellite reception. All built into a rugged and waterproof casing for those more adventurous travelers, the Dakota will operate up to 20 hrs on 2AA batteries and weighs in at only 6.75 oz.
