The Garmin GPSMAP 541S is all you would ever expect out of a Chartplotter and Fishfinder. The 541’s 5” ultra-bright QVGA display will show your location overlaid onto a built-in highly detailed g2 chart anywhere in the coastal U.S.A. including Alaska, Hawaii and the Great Lakes. For fishing or cruising, the built-in 500w fishfinder/sonar shows fish, bait or bottom in depths up to 1,500 feet.
Advanced Features
The Garmin GPSMAP 541S Chartplotter Fishfinder is a combination unit but has all the same features as a stand alone chartplotter. You will be able to see exactly where you are on a detailed chart, see a track log of where you have been, create waypoints and mark locations with Lat/Lon. With the Garmin 541s you can store up to 3000 waypoints and 100 routes and will no longer need to run external antennas, they have built-in high sensitivity antennas and provide accuracy up to 10 feet. The 541 also takes advantage of the latest in processor technology for faster chart redraws and smooth map panning. An SD memory card slot allows for adding g2 Vision charts or backing up waypoints, transferring waypoints, routes and tracks. The optional g2 Vision card provides enhanced navigation features like auto guidance, satellite imagery, 3-D mariner’s eye view and 3-D Fish Eye view.
Depthsounder/Fishfinder
Built-into the 541S is a 500w full featured fishfinder that can read as deep as 1500 feet. You have the option of running the 541S in a split screen chartplotter/fishfinder, full screen chartplotter or full screen fishfinder. When in fishfinder mode, you can set the unit to auto so that it can set its own depth and gain or manual mode will let you adjust range, gain, A-Scope and Whiteline. For bottom fishing, try the 2X and 4X zoom for a close-up view of the bottom. With UltraScroll technology for fast updates, you will always have a clear picture of what is underneath the boat and if you are not looking simply set one of the many alarms for fish, shallow water, deep water or low battery.
XM Weather compatibility
With the addition of Garmin's optional GXM51 Weather Receiver you can view NEXRAD Radar, Lightning strikes, wave heights, wave direction, water temps, wind data and more right on the 541s display and overlaid on the chart with your location. You will also enjoy a streamlined user interface and backlit keypad which make this unit a must have for any small boat or boat lacking dash space.
