Simply enter your destination into the Garmin 1690, you can pick an exact address or one of the over 6 million points of interest, and you will give verbal turn-by-turn commands that speak the street names of your next turn. Lane Assist shows you the lane you need to be in for your next maneuver and Junction View will even show you a realistic view of upcoming junctions on major highways with signage. If you miss your turn, the Nuvi 1690 will recalculate your route and get you right back on track. Need Fuel or Help? The Garmin “Where Am I?” function is built into the 1690 and will show you the closest Gas, Hospital, or Police Station as well as the closest intersection and street address to your current location.
