If you are looking for a portable navigation device that has a sleek and slim design, a beautiful 3.5” touch screen, but at an affordable price, then look no further than the Garmin Nuvi 200. The Nuvi 200 offers a beautiful 3.5” color, touch screen display that is sunlight viewable, pre-loaded maps for the lower 48 states, Puerto Rico and Hawaii, and a built in speaker for verbal turn-by-turn directions. There is also a highly sensitive WAAS GPS receiver built in for superior reception and satellite tracking. The Nuvi 200 is the little brother to the Nuvi 300 and 600 Series, keeping the sleek, ultra-thin, portable design but with some of the extra bells and whistles removed to make it more affordable.

The Garmin Nuvi 200 comes pre-loaded with the Garmin City Navigator data for the lower 48 states, Puerto Rico and Hawaii, with data provided by Navteq, and is also loaded with nearly 6 million Points of Interest including Hotels, Restaurants, ATM’s, Gas Stations and many more. Just use the touch screen to enter in the address or point of interest that you want to navigate to and the Nuvi 200 will provide both vocal and on screen directions to your destination. The map can be viewed in either a 2D overhead or a 3D view of the road ahead. If you miss a turn, don’t worry as it will recalculate directions and get you back on track.
The Nuvi 200 comes with built-in support for the travel kit which includes a JPEG picture viewer, world clock, currency converter, measurement convert and a calculator. Garmin also gave the Nuvi 200 and SD card slot for the storage images. It will also accept the optional Garmin Travel Guide and Garmin Language guide to an SD card through on board SD memory card expansion slot.
I went to Wilmington over the weekend and I took my Nuvi 200. I turned the unit on and it locked on to the satellites quickly. I used the points of interest database to find a store in Wilmington we have never been to. The unit took us to the bookstore with no problem and informed us what time we should arrive and how many miles away we were. After leaving the bookstore we wanted to take my son to a Pizza Restaurant. In the parking lot of the bookstore, I input the address to the restaurant and we were ready to go. The turn by turn directions were very easy to understand and the unit in general was very simple to use.
