With Real Time traffic updates, Bluetooth technology for handsfree calling, and a wide 4.3” display the Nuvi 760 is a top of the line navigation system. Garmin has revamped the Nuvi family giving the 760 a more simplified operation and an even slimmer design. The highly sensitive, 12 channel WAAS antenna is built into this less than .8” case and offers superior GPS reception. Garmin has also added some new features such as “Where’s My Car?” which marks the position of you vehicle when you remove the 760 from the mount so it can navigate you back to your car and “Where Am I?” which provides you your location and a list of the closest emergency services and their contact information.
As always Garmin includes detailed Navteq maps for all of North America, as well as over 6 million Points of Interest. The Points of interest are grouped by such categories as Hotels, restaurants, ATM’s, gas stations and more, the restaurant category can also be refined by the type of cuisine you are looking to eat. Using the touch screen, just enter the address or POI that you are traveling to and the unit will guide you there safely with both verbal and on screen turn-by-turn directions. With Text-to-Speech routing you will also verbally hear the name of the street that you are turning onto. If you make a wrong turn the Nuvi 760 will recalculate your directions and get you right back on your way.
The built-in travel kit features an MP3 player, Currency converter, JPG viewer and more. Looking for more extensive travel information, your can add the optional Garmin Travel and Savers for hotel and restaurant ratings and money saving coupons. The 760 is Bluethooth enabled, allowing you to connect with a compatible Bluetooth enabled phone and use it as a hands free calling device. Check this link for a list of compatible Bluetooth phones. With the built-in FM transmitter the Nuvi 760 will allow you to use your car stereo to hear your call.
