The Garmin Oregon 550T combines the highly detailed and extremely accurate Garmin Oregon GPS with a 3.2 megapixel camera to make the ultimate hiking and geocaching device. Behind the 3” high-resolution touchscreen is a built-in 3-Axis compass, highly sensitive GPS receiver and enough topographic maps to take you anywhere in the US.
Touch and Go is the idea behind the touch screen display. Easily create a new waypoint at your location, enter the Latitude/Longitude of a new waypoint at another location or just pan through the built-in map. Pre-loaded in the 550 T is a large database of detailed topographic maps which covers and displays land elevation contours, major trails, urban and rural roads, interstates, highways, coastlines, rivers, lakes, national parks, state parks, local parks, forest and wilderness areas. Also included are descriptive details for terrain contours, topo elevations, summits and geographical points.
Built-in Camera- The Oregon 550T incorporates a 3.2 megapixel camera with Auto Focus and up to a 4X digital zoom into its small design. When you snap a picture the 550 will automatically geotag each photo with the location of where it was taken. You can save that position for a future trips or to just show off to your friends. Included with the Oregon 550 is a USB cable to connect to your PC, after connecting log on to myGarmin.com to select and upload your saved pictures to store or share through Picasa, Garmin’s new photo sharing community.

Other key features for the Oregon 550T include 850mb of internal memory and the ability to add more with a MicroSD card slot.
