New to the Marine world, High Sensitivity GPS enabled Marine watch!
Quatix is the first marine based GPS wrist watch. At first glance the Garmin quatix looks to be an impressive tool for sailboat and kayak racers, but this little watch can do so much more. As a sail racing watch the quatix can setup a virtual starting line, has tack assist and a countdown timer. Included tide charts can be displayed with detailed information right on your wrist. The quatix is also waterproof to 50 meters and has an internal rechargeable battery that provides 6 weeks in watch mode and 16 hours of use with GPS on.
Garmin quatix is stuffed with advanced features, use it as a remote for your Garmin Autopilot or a NMEA 2000 data display. The quatix can engage or disengage your Garmin Autopilot; you can even have it change your course. With the optional GNT 10 NMEA transceiver the quatix becomes a NMEA 2000 data display and an automatic MOB activation device. Garmin quatix will show you information like wind speed and direction, depth, water temp and more with the proper sensors attached to your NMEA 2000 network. If you or someone else on the vessel wearing a quatix should go overboard the watch will automatically set an MOB alert to the plotter to help recover the crew member. These features are helpful on power boats, sail boats and more. The Garmin BlueChart Mobile app on an Apple device with iOS 6.0 or higher can use the quatix for position reporting.
As a basic GPS unit, the quatix has storage for 1,000 waypoints, 10,000 tracklog points, and a worldwide basemap. The trackback feature will reverse the track log and navigate you back to the start of your current track. A 3-axis electronic compass, barometer and altimeter are part of the quatix as well as wireless sharing of waypoints, routes, and tracks with other wireless compatible Garmin handhelds and watches. You can also expect standard watch functions like stopwatch, vibration alerts, tones and alarms with the Garmin quatix. This marine GPS watch is so much more than just a waterproof time keeping companion.
