The compact Magellan RoadMate 1220 boasts a 3.5 inch display and advanced navigation in an ultra-thin design. The RoadMate 1220 has a multidirectional patch antenna that will provide fast position acquisition and provide an accurate location along the way. The internal lithium ion battery will make sure your 1220 stays powered on with out an external power source for up to 3 hours on a single charge. If you are in the car just plug the RoadMate into the 12 volt adapter to keep the unit running and charging at the same time.
The Magellan OneTouch feature puts all of your favorites one screen touch away. Fill up your OneTouch page with your home address, friend’s addresses, or your favorite points of interest to visit and find the closest one to your current location. Avoid paying foreign ATM fees and put your specific bank as a OneTouch item. Do you like coffee from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts; add them to refuel at the nearest location. In addition to your OneTouch favorites the Magellan 1220 has millions of Points of interest for you to set as your destination as well as addresses for the contiguous US, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Recognizing your favorite places is simple because the RoadMate 1220 will display your favorite coffee shops, restaurants, and more by their respective logos.
When your destination has been set, the RoadMate 1220 will give you verbal turn by turn directions to that destination while speaking the street names you are turning onto. If you miss a turn the 1220 will recalculate the route and get you right back on track. Have a few stops along the way, the RoadMate can handle that as well, sorting them in the order you put them in or optimizing the stops for the most efficient way through them.
Other features include Smart Detour feature which will offer you an alternate route if the GPS notices that you have moved little or no distance over a period of time. Auto night view will adjust the color of the display for optimal viewing when the sun goes down. The 1220 will allow you to touch the screen and to create a route to that position.
This unit replaces the RoadMate 1200.
