Chad McCumbee Looks Toward Homecoming at Lowe's.

MOORESVILLE, NC (May 16, 2007) – Homecomings are significant events in a person's life and Chad McCumbee is hoping that his 2007 Homecoming in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is going to be a memorable event for him. This weekend, he'll return to his home state of North Carolina to race at Lowe's Motor Speedway,

In 2006, McCumbee and the No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet put up an impressive top-15 finish at LMS and McCumbee looks to take what the team has learned in the year since and put that toward bettering the finish this time around.

"I really think that theGPSstore.com/ Garmin Chevrolet is going to be really good this weekend at Charlotte," said McCumbee. "[Crew Chief] Dan [Glauz] and all of the guys have worked hard before the test and we unloaded really well at the test. I was pretty happy with where we were. I think that we have a really good truck for this weekend."

McCumbee has come close to bringing home a win in his No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet already with his best finishes coming at the intermediate style tracks. To win at the intermediate track closest to his hometown of Supply, North Carolina, would be the ultimate finish for the young McCumbee.

"It is always great to be able to race in North Carolina," added McCumbee. "You don't realize it but we don't get to really do it that much at all in the Truck Series. It's always a special race, most people feel that it is their home base because it is the heart of motorsports, but it is a really tough race and a lot of teams are really prepared for it because of all the testing that goes into this event. It would mean a lot to do well here, and I think that we are in really good shape and we have a good shot at getting the truck in the top-five."

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will hold their event on May 18th at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC.
