First top ten of year boost sprits.

When the green flag fell on the Smith's Las Vegas 350, McCumbee knew that he a good truck. "We had been in the top ten in all of our test sessions, and I thought we had a solid top ten truck." McCumbee remained in the top five till the first pit stop. "We put on a bad set of tires and fell back to 11th, fighting an extreme tight condition. We ended up cutting a right front tire in the process losing a lap." After losing a lap, McCumbee was able to get the lucky dog on lap 110, getting his lap back. McCumbee came in and put on four tires and adjustments to the truck, going out in 21st position, with 34 laps left in the race. McCumbee battled his way back up to 10th position, earning him and the team their best finish of the year. "During the middle of the race we put on a bad set of tires, we never had the same magic as we did at the beginning of the race. If it was not for cutting that tire I felt as though we could have had a shot at battling for the lead. "

Coming off season bests for both the MRD team and Chad McCumbee, both are looking for good things in the future. "This was a really good weekend for theGPSstore.com/Garmin Chevrolet. We had three good sessions this weekend and I'm really excited about the rest of the year. We have some really good tracks coming up for us, where I think that we can have the same type of runs." McCumbee said after the race.
