Loudon not what McCumbee was looking for
With rain washing out qualifying for the New Hampshire 200 race at Loudon, Chad McCumbee in his #8 theGPSstore/Garmin Chevy started in 30th position on the field. After a long day behind the wheel McCumbee finished with a disappointing 26th place finish.
"We had a bad set of tires that we started the race on and that got us behind. We lost a lap and were never able to get caught back up. We tried to get off sequence with pit stops and that did not work out in our favor and we fell further behind. That just seemed to be the kind of day that we had." McCumbee said after the race.
"We had a new package the last two races, and it just takes some time to work out the bugs." McCumbee said of the new things going on with the MRD team.
McCumbee heads into Las Vegas with high expectations. "We have had some really good tests, and Vegas is the kind of place where the team and I will excel. We learned some things at Chicagoland that we will be able to apply at Las Vegas, and I think that we can have some real success there." McCumbee said of the upcoming race.
