The TomTom GO 740 Live is the first connected portable navigation device from TomTom. Being a connected device means that the 740 Live uses a service that will allow you to search Google Local results to find information such as Points of interest, real time traffic, weather and fuel prices. All of that on top of the TomTom 740’s robust features makes for the ultimate travel companion.
IQ Routes 24/7 is used by the TomTom 740 to calculate the best route based on average speed on the roads for that specific hour of the day and day of the week. Voice recognition enables the 740 Live to respond to over 130 different commands that you can speak to it. The TomTom 740 will make sure that you are in the correct lane for your next turn with Advanced Lane Guidance that shows a picture to help you navigate complicated exchanges and junctions. As always you will be guided to your destination via verbal turn-by-turn directions that will announce street names for your turns. The GO 740 Live will also calculate a new route if you get off course getting you right back on track.
A built in lithium ion battery keeps the unit going for up to 3 hours away from a power source and the included cigarette lighter adapter will keep the battery charge while plugged in. Other features include TomTom MapShare technology for user adjustable maps that are shared with all Tomtom users. Hands free calling with a Bluetooth compatible phone will keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel keeping you safe. “Help Me!” puts local emergency services just a touch away if help is necessary. 3 Months of the Live service for the United States is free with the purchase of the 740 Live and a subscription is required after that through TomTom.
