Lets take a peek inside the TomTom 930 to see some more of these great features. The 12 channel high sensitivity GPS receiver provides unsurpassed satellite reception and the enhanced position technology will keep your navigation going when you are in a tunnel or around tall buildings. Just plug the 930 into the cigarette adapter and mount it to the windshield and you are ready to navigate. You can even take it out of the car and use it to walk around an unfamiliar city, the GO 930 will run for approximately 5 hours on its internal battery.
What is Map Share Technology?
The TomTom 930 is pre-loaded with detailed TeleAtlas maps for the United States, Canada and Europe, plus millions of points of interest. Because roads change, TomTom has setup the ability for you, the user to edit or change the pre-loaded maps. You are able to mark blocked or unblocked streets, insert the new name of a street, and even reverse the direction of a One Way street. Changes will immediately take effect in your TomTom 930. You are also able to share your changes and capture changes from other Map Share users via the include TomTom HOME software.
Voice address entry provides hands free entry of your destination. Simply speak the address or name of the point of interest that you are traveling to and the 930 will search its database and calculate the best route there. If you do not fell like talking you can simply use the touch screen to manually enter the address. The TomTom 930 gives you 4 different routing options: quickest, shortest, avoid toll roads and by required arrival time. With IQ Routes technology the 930 will calculate the best route possible by using actual road speeds based on average speed of travel rather than the posted speed limits. Once you are on your way the unit will guide you along with verbal turn-by-turn directions through either its powerful built in speaker or the built-in wireless FM modulator, which will send them over your car stereo speakers. You will also get Text-to-speech guidance, which not only tells you when to turn but also speaks the name of the street that you are turning onto. The TomTom 930’s Advanced Lane Guidance provides extra clarity to the verbal turn by turn directions by making sure you are in the proper lane for the upcoming turn. With all of these great guidance features it is difficult to miss a turn, but if you do, the 930 will recalculate your directions and get you right back on track. You can also chose between a traditional overhead view of the map or a 3-D view for a true perspective of what is ahead.
With the addition of a BlueTooth capable phone* you can use the TomTom 930 as a hands free calling device and to connect to the TomTom Plus services. Handsfree capability will allow you to answer incoming calls or to make calls to your phone book entries or selected points of interest. TomTom Plus services* can provide real-time traffic and weather, as well as new voices for your TomTom unit. The unit also has the ability to connect to an optional traffic receiver for real time traffic information. The optional traffic receiver will send traffic tie-ups, construction and other delays to the TomTom 930. The unit will then use the traffic data to calculate a new route to get you to your destination with minimal delays.
The TomTom “Help me!” menu allows easy access to emergency services. With the touch of the screen the 930 can give you details and guide you to emergency services such as police and fire stations, as well as hospitals. And with a Bluetooth phone connected you can call the emergency services with one touch.

First off, I have to say that the phrase “must have “is over used in the electronics world.
