The Hook-5 with Hybrid Dual Imaging (HDI) transom mount transducer has CHIRP capability which provides a pulse instead of a ping provising better water penetration and target separation. This pulse is Mid frequency through the 83 kHz and High frequency through the 200 kHz. Simple to operate and Simple to Install - Lowrance has added ASP to their HOOK series of GPS/Fishfinder units. Advanced Signal Processing (ASP) which has simplified what needs to be done and reduced the need to manually adjust the sounder. As far as installation goes, imply mount the 5” high resolution screen on the included quick-release bracket, connect power and ground and your ready to go - no external antenna is necessary as the Hook 5 has a GPS receiver built directly into the unit.
