Built in Bluetooth wireless technology allows for easy connectivity to a compatible tablet or smart phone via Wi-Fi allowing you to access Garmin's Bluechart Marine app and pre plan. Create waypoints or routes before you even get out on the water and wirelessly transfer that information right to your GPS 547. With Garmin's Helm you can view and control the 547 with your Apple iPhone, iPad or Android v4.03 or later. Full control of your media player is also now available with the Fusion Compatiable marine stereos. Control volume and tracks, browse iPod menus, change sources and zones and even control the volume in each zone right from your 547! The 547 also supports DSC which can display position data from a DSC capable VHF radio.
Built into every Garmin 547 is a pre-loaded worldwide basemap, along with both U.S. Bluechart G2 Coastal charting as well as U.S. Inland Lakes. Go one step further; add a G2 Vision pre-programmed card to the Dual microSD card slot, and see high resolution imagery of your surroundings and aerial photography with exceptional detail of Marinas, Port plans and Harbors, even Auto Guidance just to name a few.
The high sensitivity GPS/Glonass receiver updates date 10x per second for extremely accurate vessel position, velocity and time readouts. A plus even at lower speeds which gets you spot on true position and heading information, even when coming out of a turn. NMEA 2000 allows for seamless integration with compatible Garmin Marine units. Garmin has made operating the GPS MAP547 user interface simpler than ever. A sunlight readable VGA 5” color auto dimming display gives you a clear picture of what’s ahead. 3 mounting options: Bail, flush or the new flat mount. With the addition of Garmin’s GXM-52 XM Weather System the GPSMAP 547 series will display up to 20 different types of weather data, which could include Nexrad Radar to show approaching storms, lightning strikes, wave heights, surface temperatures as well as XM programming for you musical enjoyment.
