High-Definition Radar with a Very Low 1.1 Degree Beam Width
The new generation Garmin xHD radars add more features and greater detail to their line of marine radars. The narrow beam width of 1.1 degrees will focus the 4 kw of transmit power for more refined reception definition of obstacles, other craft, land, weather, and birds.
The GMR406 xHD 6 foot open array marine radar would be a great addition to any cruising or fishing boat. The enhanced performance of this new generation 72 mile radar is achieved by many improvements by Garmin. With 8 times more signal processing and 6 times more video processing than the last generation, you can easily differentiate objects, weather, and birds from sea clutter because of the resulting improved resolution, target separation, and clutter removal. When connected with a compatible Garmin multifunction display, you can run the radar in dual range mode with a split screen display for far and close radar views. Also, with the addition of an optional heading sensor, the GMR406 will support up to 10 MARPA (Mini Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) targets for tracking on screen.
The extra range and power of the GRM406 xHD 6’ open array radar, along with the enhanced processing and computing power of the unit, compliments Garmin’s intuitive and powerful chart plotters for a full featured electronics suite. Stay clear of storm cells, avoid other vessels and hazards, spot birds while fishing, and overlay onto your chart screen for a better idea of your surroundings with the addition of the next generation of Garmin’s proven radars.
