I purchased this radio as a necessity to be on the ready. It has the capability to reduce the amount of emergency equipment I need to carry in an emergency situation. I love the size and I can easily forget I am wearing it. I recommend this product to all my Boating friends and colleges.

The HX851S is a compact handheld VHF radio, just 2.46”w x 5.57”h and weighs only 11.8 ounces and it floats. Standard Horizon even added a glow in the dark gasket so you can find your radio when you don’t have light available. VHF with Enhanced GPS Capabilities. Not only does the built in GPS enable the HX851 to send DSC calls for the ultimate in safety, but it can also store and help you navigate to your favorite fishing hole. The Standard 851S can store 200 waypoints and will help you navigate to them. If a DSC call comes in you can even have it navigate you there. The HX851S has a unique compass display that will guide you to the destination you have set.
