Send and Receive AIS transmissions for Safe Boating
Add a new level of safety to your vessel with the Garmin AIS 600. The AIS 600 helps you avoid collisions by letting you know details of other boats in the area. The AIS 600 is a transceiver which means it will not only receive AIS data from other boats but it will also send your vessels information. The AIS 600 will use NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 to send AIS target overlay, MMSI number, vessel status and more right to your AIS chartplotter. The internal active splitter will let you use an existing VHF antenna for both your VHF radio and the AIS 600 with minimal signal loss or interruption and ClearTrack technology will make sure that AIS traffic position is received even when the VHF radio is in use. The Garmin AIS 600 is a dual channel receiver that has class A and B reception, plus a 2 watt AIS class B transmitter. The included GA 30 antenna will provide GPS position for the AIS 600 targets.
When connected to a Garmin VHF radio and Garmin Chartplotter on a NMEA 2000 network you can initiate calls to any MMSI target from the chartplotter with the call radio function.
