EPIRB with Hydrostatic Release, RLS, Smartphone App and 10 Year Battery!
The new ACR GlobalFix V6 category 1 EPIRB is a versatile Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon suitable for use on both recreational and commercial vessels. A Category 1 EPIRB includes a hydrostatic release and automatically deploys and floats to the surface when the vessel sinks to a depth of 4.9’ – 13.1’. The EPIRB can also be manually activate while in the bracket or manually removed and activated. The EPIRB uses 406 MHz satellite connectivity to transmit emergency signals to the global Cospas Sarsat satellite rescue system making it accurate within 100 meters. It also has a 121.5 MHz homing signal helping rescuers find the activated beacon when they are on scene. The visible and infrared strobe aids in target identification at night or when visibility is limited speeding up recovery.
The ACR 2853 has return link service indicating to the user that an EPIRB’s rescues transmission has been received. The RLS signal is sent through the Galileo satellite network confirming that the digital mayday including location and identifiers have been delivered. When the EPIRB has a successful reception of the return link message through the Galileo satellite network the unit will flash a blue light indicating the connection.
Easily access EPIRB diagnostics with ACR’s free smartphone App and NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. Simply place your smartphone near your V6 EPIRN and the ACR Product App will open and display EPIRB data. View current battery life of the beacon, the number of GNSS and self-tests completed, and the amount of time the EPIRB has been activated. You can also check the status of all EPIRB functions ensuring it’s ready to go in case of an emergency.
Every GlobalFIX V6 Category I EPIRB has a battery life of up to 10 years and is replaceable. If you are cruising, working, or fishing offshore the GlobalFix V6 is an ideal safety solution for your vessel.
*Both the Category 1 and Category 2 brackets will deactivate the EPIRBs water sensor feature so if the EPIRB should get wet while in the bracket, it will not cause a false alarm. EPIRB water activation is only possible when the EPIRB has been removed from the bracket and gets wet.
