NMEA2000 interfacing allows you to share numerical data among AIS and VHF while Garmin's OneHelm system coordinates with third party manufactured products to bring full control of things like digital switching, lighting, and stabilization right to your chartplotter display.

Detailed Mapping! Preloaded with Garmin Bluechart G3 with Navionics data and LakeVu HD you have coverage nearly everywhere in the US. Bluechart G3 provides detailed coastal mapping while the LakeVu HD offers detailed inland lake mapping. Plus, with the G3 mapping auto guidance comes standard ensuring you have safe navigation based on your boats specifications. The included LakeVu Ultra chart card provides the most detailed inland lake maps that Garmin has to offer.

Designed with sailors in mind, the 8612 includes SailAssist features which provide important data displays as well as pre-race guidance. The Sailing features also include laylines, enhanced wind rose, heading and course over ground lines, true wind data fields and more. For the ultimate boating experience, Garmin has made the 8600 series fully compatible with their ActiveCaptain App. Pair with your smartphone or tablet and pre-plan trips, mark waypoints, update software and even purchase maps. Plus within the activecaptain community you can rely on fellow boaters for more information about marinas and other POI's in the area no matter where you travel. And with wireless synching changes you make on your activecaptain app will automatically sync with your 8612 - making transferring of waypoints and routes a breeze!
