4’ Open Array Radar with Exceptional Long and Short Range Target Detection

The Garmin Fantom 4, four foot open array with pedestal is the next step forward in radar offering 40 watt solid state construction that will produce clear images at both near and far distances.

Adding to it’s impressive list of features, the Fantom 4 includes MotionScope technology that uses the Doppler Effect to clearly identify and detect moving targets to avoid collision, find flocks of birds for fishing, and weather as it tracks on the screen. Pulse Expansion in the GMR Fantom 4 increases size of the targets so it is easier to identify them from noise. No longer does the captain Call for Help with Marine Electronics or navigator have to continually adjust various filters to get a picture of what it in front and around them, just install your radar and start using it. You can rely on the GMR Fantom radar to provide reliable, optimum performance in all conditions.

Garmin’s construction of the GMR Fantom 4 included Pulse Compression to enhance resolution while maximizing power to more clearly detect and identify targets. With the GMR Fantom 4 there is no “warm up” required like with magnetron radars, just turn it on and begin using. Of course like the majority of network capable radars the GMR Fantom 4 is capable of radar overlay on the chart of your plotter when you link with an autopilot or heading sensor. The GMR Fantom 4 is also capable of displaying and tracking of up to 10 selected MARPA targets helping to avoid collision.

The next generation of radar is here from Garmin in the GMR Fantom open arrays. If you are interested in radar that has all of the features to go along with a close 1.8° beamwidth and is capable of ranges from 20’ to 72 nm, you may find the GRM Fantom 4 is one to go into your system.
