The Garmin GMI 40 Wireless Wind Pack provides a streamlined way to monitor wind and other critical onboard information from a single, easy-to-read marine display. The package combines the GMI 40 multifunction marine instrument with the gWind Wireless 2 wind transducer, giving sailors real-time wind information without requiring a wired connection between the masthead wind sensor and the display.

The Garmin GMI 40 Wireless Wind Pack features a bright, high-resolution 4.3-inch touchscreen with a modern edge-to-edge glass design. Customizable instrument pages and gauge layouts allow you to arrange the information you need for sailing, cruising, or general vessel monitoring.

The system begins at the gWind Wireless 2 transducer, which is installed at the top of the mast. The sensor measures the vessel's apparent wind direction and wind speed and wirelessly transmits that information to the GMI 40.

Because the wind data is transmitted wirelessly, there is no need to run a wind-sensor cable through the mast between the masthead and the instrument. The gWind Wireless 2 uses a rechargeable battery supported by an integrated solar panel, making it well suited for long-term masthead operation. The GMI 40 receives the wireless wind information and displays it on its touchscreen in an easy-to-read format. When connected to the boat's compatible NMEA 2000 network, the GMI 40 can also receive and display information from other onboard equipment, including speed, depth, heading, engine and fuel data.

This makes the GMI 40Wireless Wind Pack more than a dedicated wind display—it can serve as a centralized marine instrument for important information throughout the vessel. The GMI 40 Wireless Wind Pack is an NMEA 2000-certified marine instrument and can integrate with compatible equipment on the boat's NMEA 2000 network. It also supports Garmin BlueNet networking for compatible Garmin marine electronics.
